[TJ Codair]

“Some say the time for reckoning is upon us, change is coming. Others say the new ways are nothing more then just the new younger wrestlers trying to push out the old. That is where I am different. That is where I ain't the same as everyone else.”



The scene opens up as TJ Codair is seen sitting down in a bar, a cigarette in one hand, the other a bottle of Bud Light. TJ is looking around watching the crowd of people who are all scoping him out wondering if he is in fact the guy they think think he is. TJ chuckles for a bit, as the crowd are inching towards him. TJ Codair takes off his leather jacket revealing an old school Darkriders shirt as the crowd of people begin to erupt. TJ turns around in the stool and looks em all over. It was a little bit harder for them all to recognize him, seeing as he was actually wearing a beanie rather then have his hair slicked back. Codair turns back to the bar, and puts out his cigarette and takes a swig off his drink. He then taps on a guy sitting beside hims arm, as the guy beside him nods his head and smile nudging his head to get TJ up. He then turns back to the fans, and cuffs his hands around his mouth yelling something.



“The very fabric of TJ Codair, has always been about the fans and tradition. However the WXW has not had much of either in a long time,if ever. Lessons I intend to teach and pass on before my time is up.”



TJ gets up off the bar stool and walks into the middle of the fans as he nods his head. Some of the fans pat him on the shoulder, others reach out for a touch, while some get hand shakes.



“Feel's good to be in the limelight of it all again, however a change has to come and in a huge way. That has been the start of the revolution, when I first entered the WXW, why I have targeted the Saint's and now. Why I must beat Corey Bull in order to become the #1 contender and face Robert Saints for the World Heavyweight Championship.”



TJ stops, and waits while the fans surround him, he nods his head and hears some of what they are all saying to him, a lot of it is jumbled by the sheer crowd of 40 to 50 people circling him. TJ points to the guy sitting with him at the bar, as a thumbs up from him is seen.



“If I could have all your attention, I am expected to cut a promo for the WXW,and well you guys see the camera. You guys see me, you all know whats coming up next.”



TJ points back at the bar and walks over to it, climbing on top of the bar as the bartender just hangs back and laughs. TJ starts to walk back and forth on the bar,with his hands on his hips, head down.



“The fun part about it all, we are all just rock stars in this business. However some of us do things a whole hell of a lot differently. Me, I am proud of who and what I am.”



“Ya know, I got a question for all you cheese-heads in here right now, whose waiting for the Monday Night War, huh?”



The crowd erupts as Codair just holds his hand up, as they settle down quickly.



“Ya know, I feel quite at home in these little places. Go, grab a brew, have a smoke, even if it ain't allowed. The perks of being a wrestler in the local sport bar. However TJ Codair vs. Corey Bull. Winner gets World Heavyweight Championship title shot, the loser gets the International Championship title shot. Makes me think that the suits up top have figured out that me and Corey Bull are the best this company has to offer. Seeing as regardless of whoever wins this match, come Crime and Punishment. We both will end up walking out with titles on our shoulder. Why because we both respectively are the best at what we do. However, seeing as well I am a number one contender apparently, we just don't know which division yet, I may as well make sure it is for the World Heavyweight Division. Nothing against Corey, however it ain't his time. Now provided I am friendly with several of his comrades. It does not mean I will take it easy on the man. I am pretty sure he feels the same way.”



Codair looks at the crowd, and crouches down a moment, and points to a bottle of bud light. The bartender obliges him and hands it to him. He takes a sip and stands back up.



“Ahh, nothing like a cold beer. You see the thing that sets me aside from all the rest. I am what everyone has considered to be an Anti-hero type. I do what I want, say what I want, hell most times I say what everyone else is thinking. You know why I do that folks, its because I grew up watching this shit, I live for this shit.”



Codair stops for a minute.



“I am wrestling, above all else though, I am a fan of the sport, and not for the drama that happens backstage. Not the name calling, not the back stage attacks that grip everyone. Not the love affairs that happen, not for the politics, not for the dreaded one liners which by the way I don't care what anyone says I am still the best at. However back to the point. For the action that happens in that ring when the bell rings. Hell I love all of it, your standard matches, one fall, 3 count submission, your brawls, your cowbell, your wife on the line, your valet on the line, the title matches, the Japanese death matches, hell in a cell's, scaffold, whatever kind of match. I love it, I dream it, I been in em all. It don't matter how brutal, it don't matter how demeaning. I have been in em all, and faced em all.”



Codair looks out to the fans in the bar.



“Call me a shoot promo type person, or whatever ya want. However I tell it like it is as I see it. Now my vision ain't 20/20. I have had a few shots in the head over the years but the fact remains the same I am the guy that's sole purpose of being in this business is to be the best. To be the best at entertaining all of you with what I got in my bag of tricks. Be it suplexes,submission locks, or manipulation. I am the best this company has right now. You know why, because I strive to be the best no matter the odds.”



“Sometimes, I do feel like a bar room hero, but the fact remains the same. I have spent just about as much time in these type of places as I have in the ring, dare I say more then I actually have spent at home. These are my comfort zones, and in all honesty. With the feeling I get right now. You better believe I am feeling very comfortable.”



Codair stops and points to a scrawny guy at the bar.



“I was like him, still kinda a small guy by a lot of standards. But you know what, 20 years in this business. 20 long, rough, harder then hell years in this business. Two ex wives, 3 kids who fortunately will be able to go to college because of the blood, the sweat, and the pain I have been put through over the years, my oldest has graduated college, and is out to set his own stamp on the world.



Codair nods his head.



“I am damn proud of him, hell none of my friends in this business no about any of this, kind of weird huh, but hey gimme in a bar full of fans and I am as comfortable as I get. Ha ha ha, well that's how it goes I guess. It ain't that I don't trust em or like em, its well ain't had the chance to talk about it. Something has gone on, and well I just never had the chance to dive into my life, nor have I really given it a chance to happen. Sad to say really.”



Codair just walks a bit as he leans down and pats the guy hes sitting with shoulder as he raises a beer to TJ.



“Corey Bull., I would venture to say one of the most deserving individuals in this company. Definitely one of the most hungry, and one of the most scariest. He is a man that is seriously needing to be watched. Not because he is a class act, then again neither am I. It is because he is as dangerous as they come and the things he will do to protect whats yours and who you consider friend. It is a scary game to fuck with his crew, if you know what I mean. Trust me, I get the impression you understand exactly what I am talking about. Some put him as being bull headed, kind of brash, no nonsense and of course sadistic and uncaring. All of which may or may not be true. I ain't had the opportunity to really meet the guy. However I am looking forward to it,main reason. I can expect him to pull everything I did not expect from Phillip Saint's. A sledgehammer from him, well that's business. Truth be told, I don't respect the man, hell I don't respect many people til I get in the ring with them and see what they got. Take Jake Cruder, the kid had a hell of a lot of heart, however lacked the drive. Something that can be worked on. “



Codair shrugs as he looks out to the fans.



“I mean Corey Bull is a bull from what I have gathered. However word is scarce, I only seen tidbits, plus whats been at the shows. I have seen weakness in the man. That is a fact, but the weakness is due to the conflict he has had with Extreme Justice. I understand the drive it takes to deal with some people, however it all remains the same. He is weak and not yet ready to hold the World heavyweight strap. There for, has no business in a match against Robert Saints. Truthfully, it would go straight to his head and Robert could and would use that to his advantage. They both are similar however both have many differences. That and well Crime and Punishment, it is only fitting for me to face off against Robert Saint's because his crime is well he is an ass, and he claims to be king. Fact being he is not. He is just a pawn holding the throne for a more fitting champion. A champion this company needs, and that as of now is not Corey. You see folks, I am what this company needs, and there for I am here to be the liberation of this company, from the tyranny of the Saint's rule. Yes I am an asshole, but the fact remains the same. I openly admit it, and I got every right to be that. My opponent at the next show, he is as much of an asshole as I am however.”



Codair turns and faces the camera directly, focuses in on it.



“Corey, you ain’t ready for this yet. As of now, you are not fit enough to be the man. Nothing personal, I ain't trying to attack you in any kind of verbal way however the fact remains the same, you are not ready for the weight of the company on your shoulder. Dare I say it neither was Robert Saints. You see Corey, I have to win this match, for all of this companies sake. Why because Corey, you cannot over throw Robert Saint's, but I sure as hell can. I aim to and will do whatever it takes to put this prick down and out. This company cannot survive with Robert Saint's at the helm why, because you know what the last real time I really remember actually seeing any action from him was Christmas time. The man is in hiding and the reason being is because I have his number, he and everyone in this company knows it, including you.”



“The sad part about all of this, I ain't lying in any way shape or form, I am telling it the way it is.”



“Now not to discredit you in any way, or to be little you for your past accomplishments, and your high status here in the WXW. However fact is, with everything going on, and everything the way it has been, your in no way shape or form ready. Hell folks, hate to break the fourth wall, or for that matter shatter the glass ceiling. However I already put myself in the position to take out Saint's. Which means this is just an obstacle, and a test to see if I am deserving of the title shot. You got a lot on your plate also.”



Codair looks at the camera.



“Now I can go on and on about how you are a talented individual, then again, I could easily break you down and say all the wrong things to tune you up and get you fired up enough to the point where you don't think correctly. Hell I could come out and tell the world a bunch of lies about your wife and make you so hell bent that you make some of the biggest mistakes of your career in our match. I ain't going to do anything like that. You know why, because there is no need to. You see, I respect you, normally respect from me comes with being in the ring and earning it. You, I have watched, seen how you are. How you carry yourself, how you act and what you do. Your a genuine bad ass. Not the baddest of the bad, however in this company that is reserved for me. However your potential is almost limitless. Fact is though, your not in your prime. Your not as scary as you think you are. Right now, your questioning what to do and how to do it. Your probably somewhere watching this promo and saying to yourself. Oh this guy is a chump, I got this in the bag.”



Codair cracks his neck.



“I like the confidence, however the confidence you have is not nearly enough, it will never be enough. You need a lot more then confidence to take me down, and that is a proven fact. You need skill, which you have, just not enough of. A huge set, which judging by the company you keep, I would say ya do. Brain's and a whole lot of ammo. Which I would be justifiable in saying you are probably scouring the wrestling landscape looking for. More then likely you have found it, however none of my past tribulations matter, all that does matter is the here and now.”



Codair turns and looks at the fans.



“There is definitely a change in the aura of the room, the fans know that change is coming, and its coming fast. However they are unsure on whose shoulders the change is coming from. They know that the change is going to be on swift wings and a devil's tongue. That is what I possess, that is who I am. I have been going about things wrong for so long that now I have the opportunity to make amends to the wrestling world as a whole and move past all my past indiscretions. They know I possess the skills to lead this company into the right direction.”



“Corey, every fan is going to be watching our match, sitting at the edge of their seat. They will be so focused on us trying to figure out which way things will go.”



Codair turns to the camera.



“Let me make something clear, I don't like you. It ain't a harsh thing, it ain't some personal conflict. It's just I don't know you personally. I don't know your ideals, don't know your plans, but your running with a couple of people I do like. So that means I would need to get to know you a bit. However that being the case there is no need for me to take an easy on you what so ever. I am coming into our match swinging no matter the cost. The goal, and the ends will justify the means, and the goal is that World Heavyweight strap, and the means is an end to Robert Saint's stranglehold on this company. A thing I plan on taking away from him. Why, because I like him a whole lot less then I like you. He is a poison, he is a mistake, hell he is a slap in the face of tradition. He is a gutless worm, that instead of taking on a guy that called him out upon entrance to this company, he sends several of his best. Provided, his brother did a number on me. Put me outta action for two weeks. However while freshly busted up, he made a mistake and I took advantage of it. I am that fucking good. Now provided I slipped up, I still managed to recover and when everyone thought Phillip was going to take me down, I proved to them all that it was not going to be the case.”



Codair lifts up his shirt showing the still heavily taped ribs.



“I am still a bit weak though, still a bit busted up, however that will not deny me rightful place in this company. That will not deny my destiny in this company. You see, I am a work horse, I always have been. That is what this company needs is me sitting on the throne, cause I ain't got no problem defending the World Heavyweight Championship night in and night out. I ain't going to only have a match once a month like some people, because that is not who I am. I will make a name for myself here, and so far the list is, Jake Cruder, Angellus, Phillip Saints, next it will be Corey Bull, then of course Robert Saints. Now, 2 of the 3 people I have faced so far, lack luster at best. Phillip he came in swinging but failed to get the job done. 3 wins, 0 losses, makes me undefeated at this point, and Corey, you will not be the one to take me down. I ain't ready to lose yet. I ain't ready to let anyone take me down, because that is who I am.”



Codair pulls his shirt back down.



“Corey Bull you have a giant hurdle to jump over, because when people say I am the best in the world, they know damn well there is not anyone that can stop me once I get going. They know that I have been in the ring with the best, and 9 times out of 10 I have beaten the best this world has to offer. Corey, you by far ain't the best, don't take offense to it. A lot of people like to believe they are but are proven wrong every time. Not a lot of people can do that to me, unfortunately. Not without a lot of considerable help elsewhere. You see I have jumped off the grid a time or two and disappeared for a long time. However I have this staying power that no one can quite understand. However these fans do. You see I can connect with them on a much different level then anyone else can. Because they all know I am in the business for selfish reasons and ambitions. Yes, I do entertain them, and I enjoy doing that however my first priority has never been them, it has always been the most coveted prize of the company I am in. Do not get me wrong, me and the fans don't always see eye to eye, just like me and everyone else on the planet but they know if I am saying it, that is what I think or feel. They know that there is no one playing puppet master on me, because that would not go over well. I have attempted to be the company man on several occasions and to be quite honest it never worked well for me. Why, well I am too much of an asshole and me trying to be the goody goody don't work, specially if they are trying to make me the popular face of the company on the pg scale. I am not comfortable with it, the fans know it is BS, and well they know how I am.”



Codair looks back at the fans saying to them “Hey, am I right.” They all cheer as he nods his head.



“You see Corey, I am a man of action. I am constantly going forward and pushing harder then the rest. Why, because I want to see things happen. I like to see where I can make things tick when they should tock. However Corey, you, your just kind of in the moment. I question if you even have a long term plan. Your a bit short sighted if you know what I mean. It is sad really, the talent you do have. You shouldn't be just focused on the now, you should be focused on now, and the next month, two months, and past that. However you ain't, and that I am sorry to say is going to be your downfall. You do not stand a chance against me. You do not have what it takes, brute strength, sick twisted brain, not enough. Because I do have that, and on top of that, I am a tactical type guy, I know what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. This is all a game of chess to me, strategy and planning. What to do and when to do it. Just be glad I ain't aiming to rip your head off. All I am aiming to do is get the win. No other intentions. That will keep us on the up and up for this match anyways.”



“I have said enough, no need to continue on, I ain't actually looking to go to war with the man, I like him a hell of a lot more then a lot of the roster. So hopefully I have not offended him to much, just said enough to get the point across.”



“If I ain't hammered in to that thick skull of yours yet. Bring the best game ya got, because it will not matter. I will beat you, no matter what you say, or do. You do not stand a chance against me. To everyone else on the roster paying attention, your looking at the next World Heavyweight Champion, have fun trying to dethrone ME.”



Codair looks at the fans, then jumps down off the bar top.



“Next rounds on me folks, I am done cutting promo's now its about having a good night.”



The scene ends as the fans erupt, Codair grabs his beer and sits back down next to the guy he is drinking with.

The greatnorthwoods. Literally hours from the next Monday Night War. This is practically Bull’s backyard. In the woods, with the snow covered fields and thick hardwood forests, sit’s the log cabin that is more of a mansion then a home. The lights are on in the cathedral ceiling living room and a huge flat screen TV has the Super Bowl on it. There is a dozen people in the room, and the list is like that if a wrestling show: Raven Darkhawk, Bulls sadistic half sister that use to beat men for the hell of it, his half brother Xavier and his cousin Ziggy: the two man combo that use to be Dead Cell‘s tag team hitmen..the people here are people that use to run with Bull in all the federations he has been in. And now they are all sitting in his home watching an epic battle. Laney walks into the room and sets out more beer. She climbs into Bull’s lap on the lazy boy and snuggles in.

“So what did I miss?”

“Denvers center got a trigger finger and over snapped the ball. Pretty much handed Seattle a safety”

“So not much.”

“Nope.”

“Are you ready for tomorrow night?”

“Yeah. I spent a lot of time looking over the film, watching his promo. “

Raven looks over.

“So are you going to open up the whole can now or are you going to continue to hold back? Cause I am seriously sick of seeing this shit.”

“Don’t worry sis, it is time to open it up.”

“Bout frickin time. You were nice to those little pricks in Extreme Douchebaggery.”

Bull smiles, but the look in his eyes says he has more on his mind then he is saying. Laney picks up on it right away.

“What are you thinking?”

“That those three douche bags might come out and cause a problem.”

“Do you really think they will?”

“They are pissed off at me. I did to them something they didn’t expect. I showed the world that they were not all they claimed to be. I plan to show TJ the same thing. But with them I used violence, with TJ I will use skill.”

“I like that. But there is going to be violence too right?”

Bull smiles.

“Well that goes without saying.”

Everything fades out as Seattle kicks a field goal.



**It is quiet in the room that once had several former and current wrestlers and their loved ones screaming, yelling, and drinking as the greatest football game of the year was played. Instead, a fire crackles in the big stone fireplace, the mounted heads of the deer, elk, bear, and boar stare into the center of the room. And they stare at the monster that tracked them, found them, and killed them. Corey Bull. Sitting in a camouflage lazy boy, with an antler lamp next to him, Bull has his hands steepled in front of his face. The mans eyes are staring at the camera, cauldrons of fire. He lets out a deep breath and his voice rolls out like an oncoming thunderstorm.**

“When I look back on my time since I have gotten here, I realize that I am undefeated. Now for most people this would be a moment of bragging….but for me it just solidifies the point that I continue to make. I am destined for the top. There is no doubt about it. The when and where of it has yet to be determined, but the company has placed that into my hands and the hands of my opponent TJ Codair. The prize comes as a twofer. Winner gets his shot at the World Heavyweight championship and the loser gets a shot at the International title. This is a win-win in most eyes….but not in mine. I know for a fact that at Crime and Punishment I will be walking out of there with a title strap around my waist. I know for a fact that no matter what…I will have a championship. The question is….will it be the one I want?”

“I’m not going to lie and tell you that I wouldn’t love to have either title. I’m not going to be that guy. But truth be told, I am gunning for that World title and it is going to be hell for TJ to take that opportunity away from me. As a matter of fact, I am going to go out on a limb, base off of what I have seen, it won’t be that easy for me either. But it isn’t the first time I have had to overcome large obstacles to obtain the goal I set for myself.”

**Bull stands and walks through the room, entering another room and flipping on a light. In this room sit’s the electric chair called Sparky that Bull lobes to sit in. On the wall are numerous titles, more then most wrestlers will ever see. Bull turns around**

“We haven’t met, so let me introduce myself TJ. My name is Corey Bull. Some have called me many different names over the years. Pittbull….Ender of Careers….Hatebringer. I have claimed the World title in different feds a total of 8 times. I have walked at the top of the mountain and been in the lowest of the sewers and time and again…I continue to fight. I live for the battle…I feed off of the carnage and chaos. I turn it into a symphony that I understand and I create beautiful art with it. And there has never been a time where I haven’t won….even when I lost.”

“This whole scenario sounds very familiar to me. When I first entered a company called American Championship Wrestling…I was told the same things you said in your promo. I wasn’t ready for this…I couldn’t carry the company on my shoulder…and a bunch of other blah blah blah. I won the world title in the first month…and held it over a year. I became the backbone of the company. And to prove it wasn’t a fluke, I defeated the old champion the next month in a pay per view, beating him even worse then the month before. Noo games…no gimmicks…just a straight up brutal fight. That is what I want to do for this TJ. Truth be told, you are a dam good wrestler. But I wouldn’t put the title of best in the world on you. Hell, I wouldn’t put it on me either, cause there are people out there that can claim more wins then losses over me. I’m no stranger to defeat. But you put me into a situation that demands I have to come out on top to meet my own goals, and you can bet your bottom dollar that I will push it right to the very edge to win the match.”

**Bull runs a hand across his former titles, a fire building in his eyes.**

“I have been called a monster for as long as I can remember. I finally have the voices under control. But how long will that last? Will TJ be the one to bring them out and release the sickness inside? Will that maintain and hold out for the champion that will find themselves the loser once they contend with me? I don’t know the answer to those questions. It isn’t in my capacity to claim to understand the elements of my own mind. But here is what I can tell you. Monday will be war. It will be the hardest match in the career of TJ Codair. And it will be the most difficult for myself. Win or lose, a title belt comes home with me at Crime and Punishment. But I will not….no I CAN NOT allow TJ to be the one to hand me my first loss.”

“I don’t know you personally TJ. And this match…it isn’t personal. This is business. And in business, sometimes you have to use tactics that dictate a status of dislike or hatred. But let me make this clear to you. I will do what it takes to win. I will bring my A game. And every trick in the book that I have ever used, I will deploy if that is the trick I need to win the match. It may seem underhanded…may even seem like I am openly admitting to cheating. I didn’t say that…but I will walk that razors edge to win. TJ…I am coming to do battle….I want that World title. You can look to my past for conformation if you want to my ability to carry a federation on my shoulder, but that doesn’t matter. What will matter is me with the 1...2...3...and you looking up at the lights.”

**The camera focuses on the intensity that seems to be flowing off of Bull as the camera fades to black**




Excerpt from Chapter 5
Confession from Corey Bull:

After awhile, I didn’t need to fight anymore in prison. They knew I’d make it hurt. And that’s the thing about monsters like me- We are use to getting clawed up, bitten, ripped open, but not really “hurt”. Bones though, bones allow that pain. Bone fractures hurt worse than just about anything and bone isn’t flexible. It doesn’t give. If you hold it the right way, it makes it hard to move. And if it is hard to move, it is hard to fight. In the pits, that’s all I did was fight. Before I spent that time in the big house. And its pretty much done if you break the right bones. Yeah, it might not kill….but I have seen broken spines and people not walk right after fighting.

For some people that is a scary thing, to be permanently injured. We don’t get paper cuts or broken toes. That shit heals up right away, so it’s pretty much inconceivable to some of us that we might get a lasting wound.

So that is why I learned where to grab and how to twist. But I never did it to someone for no reason. I remember everyone that I have hurt. Everybody that I’ve killed. I’m not psycho, killing for the hell of it. I’m not a broken soul. I’m not.
