*Floyd McCarver is shown getting off the plane, wearing a heavy leather jacket over a sweater, breath can be seen coming out of his mouth as he gets into the Madison airport.*
Floyd: Damn, why can’t they have scheduled this show for summer, man? It’s cold as all hell here! We ain’t never had a day like this down in Tupelo, I can tell you that much!
*A smiling, elderly baggage handler came up to Floyd, with a cart to take his carry-on*
Baggage Handler: Boy, if you think this is cold, you should’ve been here a couple of weeks ago, a couple of straight days of below zero temperatures, with -20 below zero wind chills, those days made a day like this seem like heaven!
*Floyd laughed.*
Floyd: How can you live like that, why not move away somewhere warmer?
Baggage Handler: Oh, it’s not so bad, actually, the winters here are cold, yes, but when you’re on the inside, you barely notice it. And the summers here are just right, not too warm, but definitely not cold either. Plus, when you’ve lived here long enough, you sort of get used to it.
Floyd: Well, I’ve only been here 5 minutes, and I can tell you, I don’t want to get used to it, I want to get to my hotel, relax in a nice warm bath, find a nice warm gym, and work out until my match.
Baggage Handler: Match? Wait, are you one of them wrasslers?
*Floyd rolls his eyes.*
Floyd: Yes, I’m a wrestler, my name is Floyd McCarver, I wrestle for World Xtreme Wrestling, you ever heard of me? “The Most Dangerous Man to play on Sundays?” Ring any bells?
Baggage Handler: Nah, I don’t watch much wrassling anymore. My grandson does though, he’d probably know about you.
Floyd: Alright, well, thanks for your help, sir. And have fun out in the cold, for me, I’ll be happy when I can get into a nice 75 degree hotel room.
*Floyd takes his bags back, gets into a rental car and cameras fade out on him as drives to his hotel, which is near the Kohl Center, where that night’s WAR will take place. Cameras come back on as he is shown working out in the gym of the hotel, which is nicely stocked with both cardio machines and weights. He notices the camera man and stops his curls, setting down the 55 pound dumbbells.*
Floyd: Hey, I’m getting ready for tonight, we got about 3 hours til bell time, and working out always helps me get into a mood to fight, it gets me mentally focused for what I need to do out there. And it helps me get my frustrations out, which is good, I can’t bring my frustrations out there to the ring, or I’d be liable to make a mistake that my opponents could take advantage of. I don’t work out too hard, though, I don’t want to be fatigued when I get into that ring tonight, I don’t want to have any excuses, if I win or lose, I want to be in the best shape I can be.
Camera man: Tonight’s match is a tag team match, your first tag team match in WXW, and you hand picked your partner, Chris Punk, what are your thoughts on him?
Floyd: I picked Chris Punk not because I like him, not because I have any past dealings with him, I came into WXW as a lone wolf, I didn’t know anybody in that locker room, but I kept my eyes on everybody, and Chris Punk impressed me greatly from the first time I saw him. He has great discipline, which you wouldn’t expect from someone with Punk in their name, he has a great, powerful body, just like I do. He doesn’t take any prisoners, which is a philosophy that I myself try to live by when I’m in that ring. Like I said, I may not like the guy or believe what he believes, but I respect him. And that’s all I need to do to have him help me win that match tonight.
Camera Man: And what about your opponents, the Carters?
Floyd: Ah yes, the Carters. You know, my first match in WXW was against one of the Carters, I have a feeling that I may have underestimated TJ Carter a little, I was an arrogant ass not to recognize that a guy like that could outwrestle me like he did. But now I know better, I have been through the fire of a regular WXW schedule, and I am confident now that with Chris Punk by my side, I will finally be able to take that first step and achieve that first check in the win column.
Camera Man: What do you think makes it more of a surety now than when you faced TJ the first time?
Floyd: I wouldn’t say that it’s a certainty that I will win tonight, no one knows what will happen, that’s why these matches take place, anything can and will happen. But I can tell you this, with all confidence that the Floyd you’re talking to right now is a completely different person, physically, mentally, and emotionally from the Floyd that made his WXW debut 3 months ago. I respect the Carters, and I know now a little bit more of what they’re capable of, not only from facing one of them, but by researching, watching their matches, seeing their moves and their tendencies. I came into that match against TJ Carter blind, but now I can see. And if Chris Punk holds up his end of the deal, then you can bet your ass that the Carters will see that Floyd McCarver will not be denied any longer. Tonight’s the first step.
*Camera fades on McCarver’s intense glare as he stared into the mirror.*
Robert Saints shows up in Chicago IL, at the home of Chris Punk and his wife Destiny. Robert is holding the new baby Chris Jr. as Robert and Chris begin a conversation.
Chris Punk: Rob, I need you in my corner this coming week.
Chris paces around before turning to Robert with an evil smile.
Chris Punk: Robert you know I have a match next week in the Kohl Center at Madison Wisconsin. I need you in my corner. I have respect for this guy, he actually hand picked me to be his partner in this match. Rob, He don't understand the feud between myself and CM and TJ.
Robert Saints: Floyd might not understand the feud between The Carters and Punk Saints but he sees the importance of having someone like you as his partner against those two because you know their mind games and will help him be able to spot them too and don't forget I'll be out there too in your team's corner.
Chris Punk: Yeah I will be able to spot their mind games and will help him to spot them.
Robert passes the baby over to Destiny. Robert and Chris shake hands before they head outside of the house.
-Few days before WAR at a Houseshow-
Inside of the Kohl Center the camera pans around the crowd for a moment before Welcome to The Jungle by Guns and Roses begins playing. Chris Punk begins walking down the ramp followed closely by Robert Saints.
Chris Punk: Carters...We do have a history between us, but you don't with my tag team partner at WAR.
Chris stops talking for moment, pausing and an evil smile comes over his face.
Chris Punk: I know how good you both are, I have a plan for the two of you.
Chris walks over to the side and leans against the rope for a moment.
Chris Punk: CM and TJ, well...well... here we are once again. Carters I have great respect for the two of you.
Chris looks into the camera. Robert Saints begins to speak.
Robert Saints: It matters not who is Chris Punk's tag team partner tonight because he is better than both of you, Carters. The two of you know that so you're hoping that Punk and McCarver can't get along so that you can pick Punk apart but the thing you fail to realize is that I'm always at ring side so that's not going to happen tonight or ever.
Chris gets a smile on his face that only the Devil himself could match.
Chris Punk: Robert is right you both can't defeat me without help, now boys you're going to be taken to school. By the man that is too tough for Sundays, and me Chris Punk who was a goalie for the West Point Hockey Team. Carters, your time as the best Tag Team in WXW is up. You have already lost your titles, so tonight will only be the next step in knocking you guys off your pedastle. With Robert there at ringside, it makes you boys think a bit doesn't it?
Laughter is heard coming from Chris as Robert Saints begins to speak.
Robert Saints: I might not be legal in this match tonight but I'm out there and I'm going to make sure that you two don't pull any shenanigans.
Both men then laugh.
Chris Punk: Shenanigans...
Chris laughs once again.
Chris Punk: Carters, it's not over, not by a long shot. The football player and the hockey player sounds good to me. Doesn't it Carters? Once again Carters, Army vs. Marines all over again.
An evil smile comes across Chris face.
Chris Punk: Carters, we do have a history don't we. Well Carters get ready for a showdown.
Chris walks away from the camera.
Chris Punk: Carters, be forwarned that you just might lose by a lieing, cheating and oh we just stole the match. We will be seeing you.
Robert Saints: The Carters are known for being warriors but what happened to them when they faced off against Lincoln Morgan? They lost that's what happened and that's going to happen tonight when they face the team Punk McCarver and don't bother trying to cover up your fears because the big man and Punk feeds on your fears so it's pointless to hide those emotions
Chris Punk and Robert Saints both leave the ring and head towards the back. Instead of going the normal way, they walk through the crowd taunting them as they go.
