Bio: This legendary and iconic wrestler was born in Tijuana Mexico, but he grew up in San Diego California. Eddie Lopez is the son to Jorge Lopez, who was the former GM of PWSi worldwide. He was with Mia Martinez until her death in 1999. With Mia, he has one kid, Gracie Lopez who was born on September 19th 1998. They planned on having another kid, but she died before the baby was born, in a crash. Gracie remains his only child. They were also discussed marriage but never came too. Since Mia’s death and the 11 month depression, he used that as motivation to stay in the sport he loved in dedication to her. He even has a cross on his left forearm which bears her name, birth date, and death. Every now and again, he still has his moments.
He’s won over 29 titles and still counting, including the PWSi International championship! He tore his ACL and Meniscus in the same match, but he kept going one legged. He’s known not to take days off, when he’s not booked he’s doing something wrestling related or out promoting the company so he never sits at home and does nothing.
He’s done everything that a wrestler could possibly do in wrestling, he traveled all over the world, headlined in the biggest PPV’s, Announced a match or two and he’s been in every match, even put on 5 star matches. But he doesn’t plan to retire because in his words, “he’s having fun.” He left PWSi because of a contract issue and decided not to resign. Eddie is also a trainer. He helped train Jennifer Carpenter, and he also trained Breeze Jones.
He’s a PWS Hall of famer. Eddie was inducted into the Mexican Wrestling Hall Of Fame in December of 2013. So he’s a 2 time hall of famer. Also in December of 2013, he opened up a business called the “Squared Circle”. For the first time in his 16 year career, he took a well-deserved vacation that wasn’t an injury. He spent a month in Hawaii, relaxing. Also, he doesn’t do any tag team matches, unless it’s with people he trusts now.
